Special Foods Needed When Practicing Ohsawa’s Macrobiotic

When we want to “bond” with the macrobiotic path of eating, we are like turning a different direction on our path in life. All previous improper eating habits were gradually eliminated and replaced by better food choices, adjusting his daily cooking style. Here are some products that are required on the way of practical Ohsawa’s Macrobotic that Bao An wants to introduce to everyone.

  1. Brown rice

For vegans, brown rice definitely needs to be on the menu every day. The whole family should completely replace white rice by eating brown rice, noodles, vermicelli, flour,… brown rice that has not been peeled.

While I still keep white rice or white rice vermicelli, noodles, and pho, it’s still very yin. I should practice replacing gradually. Eating brown rice is not worried about lack of nutrients because all the nutrients are on the crust.

When you “get bored” of chewing brown rice, you can replace it with brown pasta, brown noodles, and brown vermicelli. Only then will the body be healthy and susceptible to diseases.

 

2. Black sesame:

Meal No. 7 (brown rice with sesame salt) is a meal that quickly balances the body, thereby improving the current health status. That’s why everyone don’t forget to have a little black sesame in the house. Whenever needed, pound it with salt. Yin sesame, yang brown rice when combined together will create great balance power.

 

3. Tamari sauce:

In addition to having a few kilograms of brown rice available in the house, some black sesame seeds, everyone should not forget the Tamari sauce. Fish sauce, market soy sauce is not good, so we should ignore them. They also fermented for a few months and then added what you don’t know. Also, Tamari soy sauce is incubated for 3 years to reduce acidity in soybeans. Tamari sauce is used as a dipping sauce and flavoring every day.

 

4. Miso:

Miso is also a kind of soy sauce that the whole family can use to add to meals or prepare in different dishes. Wet miso is a dish that Bao An loves.

 

5. Sesame Oil:

For some types of fast treatment effects in macrobiology, there is sesame oil and kuzu. 1 – 2 teaspoons of black sesame oil is effective against constipation (only used for 3 consecutive days); or add 1 drop of sesame oil to each eye to treat eye diseases (red eyes, trachoma, fish scales, glaucoma, etc.). Gargle with about 2 teaspoons of sesame oil for 15-20 minutes in the morning with a healing effect.6

6. Kuzu:

Kuzu flour, Bao An is very common. From frying cakes, making broth for noodle, spaghetti, cooking tea,… are used. Every day, when tired, seeing the yin person, having difficulty sleeping, I immediately need a glass of kuzu water with tamari.

In addition to the above 6 basic foods, Bao An also has a lot of foods to support the macrobiotic path. Because the macrobiotic process is long-term, not overnight. People can go from the basic ingredients to making more delicious, brown foods.

 

Basically all these things, but entering into macrobiotic practice is easy to say, neither easy nor difficult. When I understand the principle, I can freely cooking, eating and drinking is very easily 
